We ask all users to abide by these rules and policies.
This is not to restrict your rights to free speech but to create a pleasant environment for everyone.

The rules are enforced by members called Moderators who may ban users for offensive or unacceptable behavior.

Moderators in turn are watched over by Staff Members.

Members who are being abused or harassed can ask Moderators for help.

Abusive Moderators can be handled in several ways.

1. An Moderator may be temporarily demoted by a Staff Member. Demotes are usually between 1-4 weeks depending on the severity.
2. An Moderator may have his level dropped either temporarily or permanently.
3. An account may be suspended preventing the Moderator from using the chat and privileges in the forum for an undefined period of time, and there will be no compensation for time lost on the accounts due to suspension for abuse.
4. An account may be removed without refund in extreme cases of abuse, fraud, slander of TroveGP, advertising other communities, hacking, or other breach of contract.

Moderators who abuse are given many warnings and chances before any permanent action like suspension or account removal.

No Insults

This is a friendly chat and we are all here to get along, have fun, and meet people. If you are in a bad mood please don't take it out on other who are just trying to relax, possibly after a long hard day at work like you?

Saying "life sucks" is okay, but saying "you suck" is an insult, or is that a question? :lol:

If you do engage in insults and there is a complaint you may be kicked or banned. If you just enter the chat and say something like 'YOU ALL SUCK' then expect to get kicked or banned.

Insulting or insensitive messages to a person’s comment is not allowed. Remember this is a friendly chat!

Politics

It is against our rules to voice out on the chat political ideas which are insulting or insensitive to the feelings of other chatters.

TroveGP.com does support freedom of speech and we encourage political discussion. We must point out there is a big difference between campaigning for a particular agenda vs discussing the pros and cons of an idea.

Chatters are not allowed to post political messages or slogans in their comment or or put any kind of links to political sites or political articles. You may also be banned, or suspended if you repeatedly voice out or promote a particular political agenda to the point where it becomes irritating to other chatters.

Religion

It is against the chat rules to promote your religious views or religion in the chat unless all people in the room are willing to accept the discussion. You may not also engage in insults of another person's religion, religious views, religious group, or carry on topics which are insensitive to the feelings of other chatters or religious group.

We do support freedom of religion and encourage constructive discussion of religion in appropriate rooms or as long as everyone in the room agrees that the topic is acceptable. Again I'd like to point out that constructive discussion, debate, or question and answer session about a religion is much different that trying to force your views on others who are unwilling to listen and just want friendly chat.

Chatters are not allowed to post religious messages or slogans on main/ in their /comment, or /auto reply or put any kinds of links to religious sites or religious articles. You may also be kicked, banned, , or suspended if you repeatedly promote any religion or religious views to the point where it becomes irritating to other chatters.

No Sarcastic Remarks

Sarcastic remarks and insults might seem subtle or clever but really it just shows our own worst nature. Everyone is different and we may not always agree but we can agree that we disagree. We do not have to drop to the level of insults. As a last resort you can always ignore that person you don't get along with.

It is our hope that we can all show our better and more tolerant side so others will think better of us and at the same time make life easier for each other!

Staff members and Moderators should never to use their authority or power to disparage, threaten, demean, or talk down to other users. If they do so, they can be suspended, level dropped, or have their account removed depending on the situation. Also Staff members and Moderators who engage in this frequently end up being ganged up on by users and other Staff members and Moderators as well. See more on Ganging Up below.

No Racism or Bigotry

Racists statements are strictly not allowed in the chat. Promotion of racism or racist groups is also not allowed. Moderators involved will be immediately suspended and users involved will be banned without warning.

No Harassment

Hostile, insulting or harassing behavior is not acceptable.

If a user indicates he or she does not wish to chat with you and you continue to send private messages, chat to or about that person in the main it is considered harassment. Users have the right to be left alone and chat with whomever they wish to chat, this includes Staff members, Moderators and normal members alike.

Staff members and Moderators are not allowed to misuse their authority to force other users to chat, or to kick or ban users for personal reasons.

No Mass Entering Rooms and Icon Floods

Within the forum users are allowed to go into the chat room but if many users enter the room with the clear intention to disrupt that room it is considered harassment and the users can be, banned or suspended. If the majority of the regular users in the room are offended by activities there and have asked the offenders to stop the offenders can be banned, or suspended.

Wars will not be tolerated. A little respect for other people’s feelings goes a long way to making the chat a better place for us all.

No Ganging Up on Moderators

Publicly or privately harassing a Staff member or Moderator for bans is not allowed. If an Moderator is acting unfairly, make a report to a Staff Member.

Only Staff Members can question Moderators about their actions.

No Vulgarity & Bad Language

Use of vulgar language in any public room is not allowed. Use of vulgar nicknames is not allowed since this can be viewed on the listing.

You can use any kind of language you like in a private messages as it is agreeable to all involved.

We have many under-age users on the chat and conversation must considered be acceptable to parents. Please think before you type.

Words like hell, damn, dammit, or pissed, are acceptable unless they are used in insulting or vulgar context. Saying "my job sucks" is acceptable, whereas using the word "suck" in other contexts may not be acceptable.

Some words are filtered by the server and replaced with !%#&.

If the majority of the users find the topics and language is acceptable then kicking should not occur. Please note the rules on insults, racism, harassment, cybersex in the main, porn links in the main, illegal activities, drugs, gangs etc still apply.

No Porn Links

Posting of links or posting addresses of pornographic sites or sites with sex related content is not allowed in TroveGP Chat.

You are allowed to send any kind of pictures you want with to other users as long as that user agrees and the pictures do not contain any illegal or underage content and the other user is also not underage.

No Advertising

Use of the chat or other pages at this site for commercial or non-commercial promotion or advertisement without prior written agreement by TroveGP is prohibited.

Advertisement or posting of links to other forums or pages which are a summary of other forums or competing services in public or private is not allowed.

Posting links to private, non-commercial, web pages is allowed as long as you're not selling anything and the page does not contain or promote racist, pornographic, or illegal content.

We do our best to maintain a good service and do not appreciate other chat administrators or wanna be's coming to TroveGP and using our chat to promote their own services. If they are responsible they can pay for their own ads on Google or Yahoo, right?

Please report these violations to us as soon as possible.

No Flooding

Rapidly or repeatedly posting excessively long, duplicate, single character or word per line messages, or excessive random garbage is termed flooding.

Repeatedly logging in with different nicknames in an attempt to disrupt other users chatting or gain attention is also considered flooding.

Some users engage in this sort of activity to disrupt other users chatting, slow down the server, or get attention.

Repost of server messages is considered flooding. The server posts certain messages for a reason, there is no reason to repost these messages and hence a useless waste of chat bandwidth and an irritation to other chatters.

Reposting kick, ban, kick reasons, or ban reasons is not allowed since these are sent to banned users upon attempt to login. It is acceptable to post kick or ban reasons privately to other users.

No RePosting Server Messages

Re-posting server messages is not allowed. Reposting server messages is considered flooding. It just fills up the chat screen with garbage and disrupts the chat. If the server messages were meant to be posted the server would do so.

No RePosting Private Messages

Re-posting private messages in public is not allowed. If the messages were meant to be seen by all the person would have posted them in public. The reason being that a reposts can be entirely fake and used to frame up another person. If a person is being offensive in private forward your message to an Moderator for review.

If a person is being offensive you can ask them to stop. If they continue you can forward your messages to a Moderator for review and the Moderator can take further action. Our policy is that the Mods should ask the person politely in private not to continue, if this doesn't work the Moderator can warn and then kick or ban.

No Posting Phone Numbers or Private Information

Posting of phone numbers, home addresses, work addresses, real names, email addresses, or any other personal contact information in the chat is strictly not allowed.

There is no way to verify who's phone number or information is posted and this information could be used to target another person for harassment.

Posting of phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, or any other personal contact information is strictly not allowed and will warrant a warning then a kick if the user does not cooperate!

No Drug Talk

Drug talk, drug nicks, and promotion of drug-related activities is not allowed in TroveGP Chat.

In accordance with our free speech policy you are allowed political style debate on legalization as long as the majority of users in the room are not offended by the topic .

No Gang Talk

Gang talk, gang nicks, and promotion of gang-related activities is not allowed in TroveGP Chat.

No Illegal Activities

Discussion of illegal activities, promotion of illegal activities, carrying on of illegal activities of any kind is not allowed in the chat. This includes hacking activities, drug activities, gang activities, stalking, etc.

Staff Members and Moderators involved will be immediately suspended and users involved will be kicked or banned without warning.

No Hacking

Hacking is an illegal activity and use of or distribution of hacking programs is not allowed.

Using an nick to try to make you look like someone who works for TroveGP or trying to get other users info by posing as an TroveGP Staff Member is not allowed.

Attempts to get other people's passwords or session ID's is not allowed.

Engaging in activities to disrupt the TroveGP servers, DOS attacks, worms, viruses, or sending or using these programs against other users is not allowed.

If you are caught we will take the severest measures available possibly including reporting you to internet and country based authorities. If you are an Staff Member or Moderator your account may be suspended indefinitely and/or revoked permanently without refund as per the acceptable use of Moderator conditions.

Ban Rules

Unless it's a case of flooding or intentional disruption of the chat, Moderators should politely message the user in private to try and resolve the problem by talking. If this fails and the person continues the Mod can then publically warn the user.

If the user has clearly been warned before and is aware of the rules, or is a repeat offender they can be banned without warning by private message.

Banning for CAPS is not allowed.

Banning for vulgarity or harassment in private messages follows these rules.

1. If an Moderator receives the vulgarity or harassment in a private message, the Mod should first ask the offending person to stop. If this fails the Moderator can ban the person for the reason of "harassment". The Mod may be asked by a Staff Member to forward the offensive messages.
2. If a non-Moderator USER A requests a kick or ban for harassment or vulgarity in private message from USER B, the Moderator should Ask USER A to forward the private messages and, Ask if USER B has been asked to stop sending messages. If there is enough evidence in the forward the Moderator should first inform USER B that there is proof of harassment and politely ask them to stop sending messages to USER A. If this does not work and the Moderator has evidence from the forward the Mod may ban USER B for harassment in private messages. If USER A cannot provide evidence, the Moderator may still ask USER B what is going on. In both situations, the Moderator involved may be asked by a Staff Member to support their action by forwarding the private messages (or the forward from the non-Moderator) to the Staff Member for review. When asked, please provide it promptly - thanks.

Slander of TroveGP

We do our best to provide fair and good service. If you have a complaint about TroveGP you can send it to compaints at troveGP dot com

Please do not come onto the chat and complain about the level system or in any other way disparage the Chat. Also slandering other chatters is considered harassment and is not allowed.

It is much more effective to use compaints at troveGP dot nl We may take some time to respond but we try very hard to keep our users happy and provide fair treatment.

Do NOT Share Staff Member Information

Staff Members should not reveal the, contents of the abuse logs , discussion on the Chat or any other privileged Staff Member information to other chatters publically or privately.

Abuse logs can only be read by trusted Staff Members and are flushed after 30 days. Staff Members are strictly not allowed not to share the contents of the abuse log TroveGP or via any other method such as phone or email. Doing so will result in immediate removal from the Staff and possibly a suspension.
